WASHINGTON, D.C. – Danny McIntyre, a rear-load commercial truck driver for Republic Services, Inc. in Las Vegas, received a Driver of the Year Award in the Large Commercial Category from the Environmental Industry Associations (EIA) at a special awards ceremony in Dallas on Tuesday, May 10.
EIA, based in Washington, D.C., is the major national trade association representing for-profit companies in the waste and recycling services and equipment industry throughout the United States. “We are very proud of Danny’s extraordinary commitment to safety on the road,” said Bruce J. Parker, president and CEO of EIA. With an 18-year run at Republic Services, McIntyre drives a commercial route, averaging about 1,200 stops—or 600 miles of driving—each week. McIntyre has never experienced a preventable accident and has been commended by superiors for exceptional customer service and commitment to safety. “I am really pleased to receive this award,” said McIntyre. “I am committed to driving safely and efficiently on my route and to keeping customers happy, and it’s great to be recognized.”
