AURORA SANITATION WORKER HONORED FOR SAFE AND EXEMPLARY SERVICE
Kenneth Aldrich Named 2010 “Driver of the Year” by the Environmental Industry Associations
WASHINGTON, D.C. –Kenneth Aldrich, a rear-load truck driver for Republic Services, Inc. in Illinois, received a Driver of the Year Award in the Large Commercial Category from the Environmental Industry Associations (EIA).
“We are very proud of Kenneth’s safety record, commitment to his company, and quality of customer service,” said Bruce J. Parker, President and CEO of EIA, a non-profit trade association that represents for-profit companies in the waste and recycling services and equipment industry throughout the United States.
With a 15-year, clean driving record at Republic Services, Aldrich drives city, suburban and rural routes, averaging about 825 stops each week and with 625 miles of driving.
“I am really pleased to receive this award,” said Aldrich. “I am committed to driving safely and efficiently on my route and to keeping customers happy, and it’s great to be recognized for my record.”
Aldrich’s employer, Republic Services, is a leading provider of solid waste collection, transfer, recycling and disposal services. It operates 376 collection companies in 40 states and Puerto Rico and provides top-quality services to commercial, industrial, municipal and residential customers. Republic serves millions of residential customers under contracts with more than 3,000 municipalities for waste collection and residential services. Its headquarters are located in Phoenix, AZ.
The awards ceremony took place in Atlanta as part of the waste industry’s national trade show, WasteExpo 2010 (www.wasteexpo.com).
