Starting July 1, 2026, your monthly rates for collection and disposal of recycling, trash and organic waste will increase. This rate adjustment reflects rising operational costs and supports our ability to continue providing high-quality service while advancing sustainability efforts throughout the community. We look forward to continuing our high level of service for Carlsbad Residents.
PLEASE NOTE: Your updated rates will appear on your July bill. Most single-family residences are billed every two months, so charges will reflect two months of service.
Included in your monthly rate, please enjoy the following FREE residential services:
- Curbside collection of extra recyclables and household batteries on recycling day
- Two Shred and Recycle It! and two Compost and Mulch Giveaway events a year
- Bulky item and electronic waste pickup (up to 5 items, 3 times per year)
- Holiday tree pickup for 3 weeks following Christmas on weekly service day

Holiday Schedule
We observe New Year’s Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. If your service day falls on or after one of these holidays, it will be delayed by one day. For all other holidays, your service day will remain the same:
