We observe the following holidays:

Memorial Day
Independence Day
Labor Day
Thanksgiving Day
Christmas Day
If your regular collection day falls on or after the holiday, it will be delayed by one day. Holidays falling on the weekend, will not delay collection.
Collection schedule
- The City of Grand Prairie provides garbage collection to each residence twice a week.
- Recycling collection is Wednesday.
- Separate trucks pick up garbage and recycling.
- There will be no garbage or recycling collection on holidays.

If one of these holidays falls on your garbage or recycling collection days, there will be no makeup collection for the holiday.
Please set out your garbage and/or recycling on your next regularly scheduled collection day.

Commonly accepted recyclables include: paper, plastic, cardboard, and aluminum. Glass acceptance varies by location and exceptions do exist, based on location so please contact your local provider for details.

No, PLEASE DO NOT place plastic bags in your cart.
Plastic bags cause serious issues for our recycling processing centers machinery and are disposed of as trash.
Please return these to your local grocery store.
