January 14, 2020 / Time to read: 5 minIt’s officially 2020! The start of the new year is a perfect time to prioritize those home renovation projects you’ve been wanting to tackle. Whether you’ve collected too much stuff, want to do a complete garage clean out, or are just looking to organize and redecorate, here are five ideas to get you going.
1. Pick one room to clean out. Decluttering is a great way to start off the new year. To not feel overwhelmed, focus on one room a month to start.
- Home Office: Your home office is a place that’s full of inspiration but also clutter. Declutter your desk by shredding and recycling old paperwork, organize your desk drawer and clear your bulletin or message board.
- Kitchen: Your passion lies in the kitchen, but your organization skills do not. Clean out the junk drawer, organize cooking tools, and cabinets to create more space for your creativity.
- Game Room: The kids favorite hang-out spot can be a haven or a never-ending mound of toys, games and just about where everything else collects. Cleanup and organize items into bins to keep toys and games organized and recycle and/or donate whatever devices or toys your kids no longer use.
2. Organize and redecorate. Change paint colors, rearrange or get rid of old furniture, and refresh your décor.
3. Overhaul your garage. Organize and throw out old seasonal items and set up shelving systems for easy organization.
4. Get some curb appeal. Pull out dead weeds and plants. Re-landscape and build that deck you’ve always wanted.
5. Go green! Update windows to remove air leaks, install smart thermostats, and switch to LED bulbs to help prevent energy waste and reduce your energy bill.
Most projects like these are going to leave you with stuff that’s probably too big for your trash or recycling containers. We can help with safe and simple dumpster rental options. Whether you need a simple roll-off dumpster for a one-time haul or an ongoing removal program, start with our
