Participation Tiers
Tier 1 (Pre-Contracted Vessels)
- Must complete oil spill response training (HAZWOPER and spill drills)
- Must be available for immediate deployment
- Receive compensation for standby time and active response efforts
Tier 2 (Emergency Call-Up Vessels)
- No pre-training required
- Activated as needed during larger spill events
- Receive just-in-time training and compensation upon activation
Who Can Participate?
We welcome all types of vessels, including:
- Fishing boats
- Charter vessels
- Deck barges
- Tugboats
- Workboats
- Other commercial or private vessels
Your Role as a VOO Participant
- Deploy oil containment booms and skimmers
- Assist in oil recovery operations
- Transport personnel, equipment or supplies
