Charitable Giving Portal
Republic Services is proud to support local Santa Ana charities that have an impact on the community. Santa Ana charities that are registered as 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations can submit a grant application through Republic Services charitable giving portal.
Note: Applications will be reviewed and assessed on community impact. Application submission does not guarantee funding. Applicants will be notified if their request was approved or denied.
Organics Recycling Bills
AB 341: Commercial Recycling
To adhere to state compliance commercial customers can sign up for a recycling program through Republic Services. We offer a 3-yard container serviced one to
three times per week on Tuesday, Wednesday and/or Friday. Please contact customer service at 800.700.8610 to set up service.
AB 1826: Commercial Organics Recycling
To adhere to state compliance commercial customers can sign up for a recycling program through Republic Services. We offer a 64-gallon cart and 2-yard container serviced once or twice a week on Monday and/or Thursday. Please contact our recycling coordinator Anaheimrecycles@republicservices.com to set up service.
Commercial Edible Food
(1) Information about Republic's and the City's Edible Food Recovery Program
Republic Services, in partnership with the City, supports the Edible Food Recovery Program designed to divert surplus edible food from disposal and redirect it to local Food Recovery Organizations serving individuals and families in need. This program aligns with Senate Bill (SB) 1383 and advances the City's sustainability goals by reducing greenhouse gas emissions associated with organic waste.
(2) Information about Commercial Edible Food Generator Requirements (14 CCR, Chapter 12, Article 10)
In accordance with Title 14 of the California Code of Regulations, Chapter 12, Article 10, designated Commercial Edible Food Generators (Tier 1 and Tier 2) are required to:
- Arrange to recover the maximum amount of surplus edible food that would otherwise be disposed of
- Establish written agreements with Food Recovery Organizations or Food Recovery Services
- Maintain records of all food recovery activities, including the types, frequency and quantity of food recovered
- Provide documentation during inspections or upon request by the City or CalRecycle
(3) Information about Food Recovery Organizations and Food Recovery Services
Republic Services maintains and provides access to a directory of Food Recovery Organizations and Food Recovery Services operating within the City. The directory includes contact information, types of food accepted and areas of service.
(4) Information about Actions to Prevent the Creation of Food Waste
Commercial Edible Food Generators are encouraged to implement best management practices to reduce food waste at the source, including:
- Utilizing first-in, first-out (FIFO) inventory systems
- Monitoring purchasing and storage procedures
- Donating surplus food through approved recovery partners
- Providing employee training on food waste prevention
- Tracking food waste to identify opportunities for reduction
