- Please place all containers by the curb by 7:00 am on your designated collection day.
- You can put your containers out as early as 7:00 pm the day before your scheduled collection day.
- Bag your trash to prevent the wind from blowing it out of the containers and down the street.
- Keep the lids closed, and please don't overfill the carts.
- Place containers at your designated collection point - near your driveway, at the front curb or within 3 feet of the alley's edge.
- Position the container with the wheels towards your house.
- Containers should be positioned with 3-4 feet of space between them.

- Do not park vehicles in front of containers on collection day.
- Do not place household chemicals known as: Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) and electronics in your garbage cart. Disposing of these items in your trash/recycle containers can cause potentially severe damage to trash/recycle truck drivers and at the landfill/recycling center.
The City of Murphy along with Republic Services offers a bi-annual clean up for Murphy residents to drop off unwanted, recyclable items at:

Extra carts may be requested for an additional monthly fee.
To request an additional cart, please call the City of Murphy Customer Service at 972-468-4100 or by emailing customerservice@murphytx.org
