Trash and recycling schedule
Residential customers receive weekly trash and curbside recycling collection.
Trash (blue) and recycling (green) carts must be at the curb no later than 7:00 am.

- Residences on the east side of Dillehay Drive / Hogge Drive trash/recycle pickup schedule will change to every Friday.
- Residences on the west side of Dillehay Drive / Hogge Drive will continue to be picked up every Thursday.

- Effective March 30, 2018:
- Bulk trash service
- Bulk limit maximum is 10 cubic yards each month.

here . - Bulk/Brush items are to be set out on Monday by 7:00 AM on your scheduled bulk pickup week of collection and placed in the same location as normal trash carts.
- Residents west of Dillehay Drive / Hogge Road are scheduled for the 3rd Monday of each month.
- Residents east of Dillehay Drive / Hogge Road are scheduled for the 4th Monday of each month.
- Republic Services has until the end of the scheduled bulk week to recover your items.
- Observed holidays could cause a delay in pickup.

Recycling
Each household is issued one cart, but additional carts are available from City Hall at no charge.
Recycling is easy – you don’t have to presort your recyclables. Everything to be recycled goes straight into your green recycling cart.
Why is recycling a good thing to do?
- Energy and fossil fuels are saved
- Natural resources are saved
- Fewer air emissions are created
- Costs are reduced through waste diversion
- Landfills are more efficient and productive, and last longer
Please note, all recyclable items should be
- Empty means making sure there is no food or product residue. Make sure all of that goes into the trash or down the drain as part of the EMPTY process.
- Clean means that empty recyclable containers should be rinsed. So, no mustard in the mustard containers or leftover ketchup in the ketchup bottles. If you cannot get a container completely clean, it is best to put it into the trash so as not to contaminate the rest of your recycling material and the overall process.
- Dry means letting containers dry before placing them in your green container so that the paper and cardboard don't get wet. Wet or soiled paper and cardboard cannot be recycled.
What can be recycled?
Plastic - Water bottles, Take out containers, Soda Bottles, Detergent Containers, Bagged Film Plastics
Glass - Clear, green, and brown glass bottles or jars
Metal - All metal food and beverage cans (Aluminum beverage cans, food cans, steel food containers)
Paper - Paper (staples okay), Newspaper, Envelopes, Catalogs, Magazines, Junk Mail, Phone Books, Brochures, Cereal boxes, and any other household paper products, including shredded paper (which must be put in a clear plastic bag before going into the container)
Cardboard - Ream wrappers, File Folders, Poster Board, Frozen Food Boxes, Cardboard boxes (folded flat), Milk Cartons, Chipboard
Please remove food waste, lids, and rinse containers.

Americans throw away more trash during the holiday season than any other time of year. The good news is much of it can be recycled.
- All types of cardboard boxes should be flattened and placed in your recycle cart. Cut larger boxes into smaller pieces so they fit loosely inside the cart. Carts that are over stuffed may not empty fully. Boxes left next to recycle carts will be collected with trash and wont be recycled.
- Most wrapping paper is recyclable and can be placed in your curbside recycling cart as long as it doesn’t have ribbons, bows or other decorations attached. Wrapping paper that includes foil or glitter cannot be recycled. Tissue paper cannot be recycled.
- Greeting cards and envelopes are also recyclable, as long as they are not musical and do not contain foil or glitter or have other decorations attached.
- Christmas lights and decorations that are broken or no longer wanted should be placed in the regular garbage, along with artificial Christmas trees and wreaths which are not recyclable.
