Organics update (food waste & green waste) SB 1383
New organics recycling program in Yorba Linda! As required by state law SB 1383, the City of Yorba Linda has launched an organics recycling program in partnership with the City’s waste hauler, Republic Services. Beginning July 1, 2022, residents & businesses must separate organic waste. Click the links below for more information.
The Law California Senate Bill 1383 (SB 1383), requires reductions of organic waste in landfills as part of a greater plan to reduce emissions of short-lived climate pollutants. SB 1383 establishes targets to achieve a 50% reduction in statewide disposal of organic waste from the 2014 level by 2020 and a 75% reduction by 2025. For more information visit

Your yard waste cart is now your organics cart! Starting July 1, 2022, place food waste, food-soiled paper and yard waste into your BROWN organics cart.

Yes. Residents of the City of Yorba Linda receive up to three (3) bulky item pickups per calendar year. Limit ten (10) items per collection. No building materials or hazardous waste. To schedule a pickup, call Customer Service at 800-700-8610.

Commonly accepted recyclables include: paper, plastic, cardboard, and aluminum. Glass acceptance varies by location and exceptions do exist, based on location so please contact your local provider for details.

CHRISTMAS TREE RECYCLING TIPS
Prepare Your Christmas Tree for Recycling by Following these Guidelines:
- Remove tree stand, ornaments, tinsel
- Do NOT place tree in a plastic bag
- Place tree at the curb by 7a.m. on your trash collection day
- Place the tree alongside your containers,not in front of your containers
- Cut your tree in half if it is over six feet tall
- Flocked trees are NOT recyclable and must be treated as trash.
- Please call Customer Service at 800-700-8610 to arrange for a special bulky item pickup for flocked trees.
