How to Recycle Paint

We encourage households and businesses in participating states to take their unwanted, leftover paint to a PaintCare drop-off site. Most locations are paint retailers, which are often open seven days a week, year-round.

PaintCare Drop-Off Guidelines

To ensure your paint is accepted for drop-off, products need to be in their original containers which must:

  • Be no larger than 5 gallons
  • Include the original manufacturer’s printed label
  • Be covered with a secured lid
  • Not be leaking
  • Not be empty
