Republic Services Employees Give Back in Honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day

During the event, we explored how we can apply those principles to our lives and workplaces.
We’re also proud of our local teams that participated in volunteer events in the communities we serve.
To observe and commemorate Martin Luther King Jr. Day this year,
- In Phoenix, team members volunteered with
Keep Phoenix Beautiful , an organization working to empower diverse communities to improve overall quality of life, keeping Phoenix a healthy, beautiful place to live. Through a neighborhood cleanup, where volunteers trimmed grass, collected litter, installed a 10x10 foot pergola, and more, our team helped Phoenix residents with beautification projects. - In the Midland and Odessa area, volunteers donated their time to the
West Texas Food Bank , a hunger relief organization feeding families in the entire West Texas area for more than 35 years. The team assisted by distributing donated and purchased food, serving families, and supporting the staff. - The local
Food Bank of West Central Texas , located in Abilene, provides food-insecure households with access to food to help meet nutritional needs. Our local team members proudly supported the team by coordinating meal donations, sorting food cabinets and helping families, children, and seniors access food. - The
Houston Republic Services team continued their partnership withSecond Mile Food Bank , an award-winning food pantry that serves around 50 families a day. Through this partnership, our team has helped give back to the Houston community, providing meals and support to those in need.
