The Challenge
A site assessment and waste profiling concluded that one pit had not been cleaned in a long time. A significant amount of sludge from PPE and containers mixed in with the sludge required specific equipment for effective cleaning.
The Solution
We stepped up to become the sole provider for drum management, waste disposal and tank cleanings. To start, we were contracted to clean six tanks.
With our extensive resources, we quickly provided the specialized equipment needed to clean out the pit that hadn’t been properly cleaned over an extended period of time, changing from a liquid truck and using a vac box with an Air Mover to remove sludge buildup in the pit. This significantly reduced onsite time and downtime for the customer.
Our efficient approach to tank cleaning and drum management minimized onsite time, reducing downtime for the customer, who greatly benefited from working with just one provider for drum management, waste disposal and tank cleaning. Additionally, they enjoyed a cost savings for waste hauling, as we're closer in proximity to the facility they need serviced.
Though Republic Services is currently serving one location, there is potential to extend the partnership to other locations.
