Compost and mulch giveaway event
- Saturday April 12 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.
- Lafayette Service Center, 1700 Avalon Avenue
- Reservations required: visit LafayetteCO.gov/EarthMonth in early 2025.
- No trucks or trailers
Spring curbside leaf and branch cleanup
Includes pick up of up to twenty (20) compostable or brown/kraft paper yard waste bags and 5 bundles of shrubbery and tree limbs cut to no more than 4' (feet) in length and no more than 18" (inches) in diameter, tied with twine or rope.
- Saturday, April 5: Residents located south of South Boulder Road and East and West of Hwy 287
- Saturday, April 12: Residents located north of South Boulder Road and East of Hwy 287
- Saturday, April 19: Residents located West of Hwy 287 and North of South Boulder Road
Fall curbside leaf and branch cleanup
- Saturday, November 1: Residents located south of South Boulder Road and East and West of Hwy 287
- Saturday, November 8: Residents located north of South Boulder Road and East of Hwy 287
- Saturday, November 15: Residents located West of Hwy 287 and North of South Boulder Road
Hard-to-Recycle Event
- Saturday, April 19 8 a.m. – 12 p.m.
- Flatirons Church: 201 Waneka Parkway (back parking lot) enter off South Boulder Road.
- Examples of hard-to-recycle items include Styrofoam, electronics, batteries, cleaning supplies, paper for shredding and more
Earth Day, Every Day
- Saturday, April 26 10 a.m. – 2 p.m., Outdoor Classroom, 105 W Baseline Road
- Family-friendly event to event to enjoy the outdoors, protect the Earth, and create a more sustainable Lafayette.
- Get the opportunity to sit in a recycling truck!

Annual Bulk Item Cleanup
Bulk Items are defined as items put out for curbside collection that are not in a container and do not fit in a 32-gallon cart (up to 5 items).
The following will not be collected:
- Freon containing appliances
Electronic items (e-waste)Hazardous waste
- Saturday, September 13: Residents located south of South Boulder Road and East and West of Hwy 287
- Saturday, September 20: Residents located north of South Boulder Road and East of Hwy 287
- Saturday, September 27: Residents located West of Hwy 287 and North of South Boulder Road
- Place up to 5 items curbside by 7 a.m. Examples include mattresses, box springs, sofas, chairs, other furniture, and large household appliances that do not contain Freon®.

Criteria for Republic Services seasonal clean-up events
Please DO:
- Do place items out by 7:00 am
- Do place items in the street gutter
- Do leave items out regardless of the weather
- Do put leaves in Kraft paper yard bags
- Do tie / bundle tree limbs/brush with twine / rope
- Do tie tree limbs/brush into bundles no more than 4' in length and 18" in diameter
Please DO NOT:
- Do NOT place items on sidewalk/driveway/yard or alley
- Do NOT put leaves in plastic bags
- Do NOT put out tree stumps
- Do NOT put out tree limbs longer than 4 feet
- Do NOT put out tree limbs/brush/bundles wider than 18 inches in diameter
- Do NOT put out tree limbs/brush without tying/bundling with twine/rope
- Do NOT use compostable bags

- Bundles of Branches must be no longer than 4ft in Length and no more than 18” inches diameter and tied with twine or rope.
