EVP, Chief Operating Officer
Gregg Brummer is EVP, Chief Operating Officer of Republic Services, Inc. He is responsible for operationalizing the company’s strategy and executing its business plan across field operations. He also has functional responsibility for all operational support departments, including safety, engineering, environmental compliance and management of a fleet that includes one of the largest vocational truck fleets in the country.

Julia Arambula is SVP, Operations. In this role, she leads operations in the eastern portion of the country, which includes the Midwest, Southeast, Mid-Atlantic, Northeast and Great Lakes Areas. She is responsible for maximizing field performance, ensuring superior customer service, executing the operating plan and achieving financial and operational results for half the country.

Brian Bales is EVP, Chief Development Officer. In this role, he is responsible for maximizing the Company’s external growth opportunities through business expansion across 47 states, including Republic Services’ recycling centers, landfill gas and renewable energy projects and up to $1 billion in acquisitions each year.

Catharine Ellingsen is EVP, Chief Legal Officer, Chief Ethics and Compliance Officer and Corporate Secretary. She is responsible for overseeing the Company’s legal affairs and ensuring Republic Services upholds the highest ethical standards for our customers, employees and shareholders.

Courtney Rodriguez is EVP, Chief Human Resources Officer. She is responsible for overseeing and executing all aspects of the Company’s talent strategy to achieve our business objectives and ensure Republic continues to be the place where the best people come to work. Courtney leads all human resources functions, including talent acquisition and retention, learning and development and total rewards.

Manuel Kadre
Chairman of the Board
Manuel Kadre joined Republic Services’ Board of Directors in June 2014 and became chairman of the board in March 2017.
Mr. Kadre is Chief Executive Officer of MBB Auto, LLC, a premium luxury retail automotive group, and previously was Chief Executive Officer of Gold Coast Caribbean Importers. He also sits on the boards of directors of The Home Depot, Inc., and Mednax, Inc., where he is the lead independent director. Mr. Kadre serves on the board of trustees for the University of Miami and on the board of directors for University of Miami Health System.
Mr. Kadre is a graduate of Iona College and earned his law degree from Fordham University.Tomago Collins

Tomago Collins has been on Republic Services’ board of directors since August 2013. He is Executive Vice President, Communications and Business Development for Kroenke Sports & Entertainment, where he has worked since 2003. Previously, he was a journalist at the (Louisville) Courier-Journal and at CNN International. Mr. Collins sits on the boards of directors of Clear Secure, Inc. and the Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts. Mr. Collins also serves as a board member for the Global Down Syndrome Foundation.
Mr. Collins is a graduate of Yale University.Michael A. Duffy

Michael A. Duffy joined Republic Services’ board of directors in July 2020. He is CEO of FleetPride Inc., a leading national distributor of aftermarket parts for the U.S. heavy-duty truck industry. Prior to his role at FleetPride, Mr. Duffy served as CEO of C&S Wholesale Grocers, Inc., the nation’s largest wholesale grocery distributor. Mr. Duffy serves as a director of FleetPride’s parent entity, ASP FleetPride Holdings, LLC.
Mr. Duffy earned both a bachelor’s degree in Operations Research and a master’s degree in Transportation from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.Thomas W. Handley

Thomas W. Handley has been on Republic Services’ board of directors since July 2016. He is the Chief Operating Officer supporting the investment operations of William H. Gates III and Cascade Asset Management Company.
Mr. Handley was previously employed by Ecolab Inc. from 2003 until his retirement in 2019. At Ecolab, Mr. Handley held a variety of senior management positions including almost seven years as its President and Chief Operating Officer, his position the year he retired. Prior to his time at Ecolab, he was a Vice President for Procter & Gamble. Mr. Handley also sits on the board of directors of HB Fuller Co.
Mr. Handley graduated from Claremont McKenna College and earned his MBA from the University of Chicago.Jennifer M. Kirk

Jennifer M. Kirk has been on Republic Services’ board of directors since July 2016. She is Senior Vice President, Global Controller and Chief Accounting Officer at Medtronic PLC. Prior to her role at Medtronic, Ms. Kirk held the position of Senior Vice President, Integration and Value Capture at Occidental Petroleum Corp., where she worked for over 20 years in various roles of increasing responsibility.
Ms. Kirk is a graduate of the University of California, Santa Barbara, earned her MBA from California State University, Bakersfield, and is a certified public accountant.Michael Larson

Michael Larson has been on Republic Services’ board of directors since October 2009. He is Chief Investment Officer for William H. Gates III and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation Trust, where he has worked since 1994. He sits on the boards of directors of Ecolab Inc., and Fomento Económico Mexicano, and also serves as chairman of the board of trustees of two Western Asset Management funds.
Mr. Larson graduated from Claremont McKenna College and earned his MBA from the University of Chicago.James P. Snee

James P. Snee has been on Republic Services’ board of directors since July 2018. He is Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of Hormel Foods Corp., where he has worked for 30 years.

Brian S. Tyler joined Republic Services’ board of directors in April 2021. He is CEO of McKesson Corporation, a publicly traded healthcare distribution, and services company, where he has worked for over 24 years. Mr. Tyler also serves on the board of directors of McKesson Corporation.
Mr. Tyler graduated from the University of California – Santa Cruz and earned both a Ph.D. and a master’s degree in economics from the University of Chicago.Jon Vander Ark

Jon Vander Ark is President and Chief Executive Officer of Republic Services, Inc., an industry leader in environmental services. He is responsible for leading the Company’s strategy of sustainably handling customers’ environmental services needs.
Mr. Vander Ark serves on the Board of Chances for Children, a 501c3 organization that uplifts the children of Haiti through a variety of programs to encourage the movement of a community from survival to stability and sustainability. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Calvin College and a Juris Doctorate from Harvard Law School.Sandra M. Volpe

Sandra M. Volpe has been on Republic Services’ board of directors since December 2016. Ms. Volpe was previously employed by FedEx Ground from 2000 until her retirement in 2022. At FedEx Ground, Ms. Volpe held a variety of senior management roles, most recently holding the position of Senior Vice President, Strategic Planning, Communications and Business Development Solutions.
Ms. Volpe graduated from Kent State University and earned her MBA from the University of Pittsburgh.Katharine B. Weymouth

Katharine B. Weymouth has been on Republic Services’ board of directors since October 2018. She is Chief Operating Officer of ShineTogether, a start-up platform for parents of struggling and at-risk teens. She is also Senior Advisor to ChefMarket, an on-demand delivery service for restaurant chefs, and previously held numerous leadership positions at The Washington Post, including Publisher and Chief Executive Officer from 2008 through 2014. Ms. Weymouth sits on the boards of directors of Cable One, Inc., Xometry, Inc., Sequoia Mutual Fund, and Graham Holdings Co. She also serves as a trustee of the Philip L. Graham Fund and is Chair of the Board for The Greater Washington Community Foundation.
Ms. Weymouth graduated from Harvard University and earned her law degree from Stanford University.Meg Reynolds

Meg Reynolds joined Republic’s board of directors in July 2023. She is co-founder, principal, and global emerging markets equity portfolio manager at Westwood Global Investments (WGI), a national financial advisory firm headquartered in Boston. Prior to co-founding WGI, Ms. Reynolds was a portfolio manager of the Latin American Fund at Fidelity Investments. Earlier, she served in roles of increasing responsibility at Putnam Investor Services.
Ms. Reynolds has more than 30 years of investment experience, and serves on several non-profit boards, including the Catholic Schools Foundation, Dana Farber Cancer Institute, Kelly Brush Foundation and Women’s Foundation of Boston.
Ms. Reynolds has an M.S. from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a B.S. from the University of New Hampshire.
