In October, our local teams supported volunteer projects through the Republic Services Charitable Foundation’s NNP program.
Portland, OR: Our team once again partnered withRebuilding Together Portland to complete a much-needed neighborhood revitalization project. More than 20 Republic Servicesvolunteers completed renovation projects at the Seeds of Harmony Community Garden. Volunteers added pathways to increase accessibility, rebuilt and replaced raised planter beds, installed a greenhouse and updated a storage shed to house garden tools and other supplies.Nashville, TN: In Nashville, our team’s efforts will help locals get back out to the ballgame. Our volunteers partnered withRebuilding Together Nashville to make a big impact in the Bordeaux neighborhood by supporting renovation and improvement projects at the Park Wood Community Club. Volunteers tore down old press boxes, installed new tables and benches, and completed field maintenance projects ahead of next season. The project will make the neighborhood space more functional for residents of all ages.Canton, OH: In partnership withHabitat for Humanity East Central Ohio , our team spent a day in the historic Lathrop neighborhood completing a revitalization project at the Compton Learning Center, which works with five local high schools and serves as an essential neighborhood resource. Our team volunteered and helped remove old, dilapidated playground equipment and complete outdoor beautification projects.
Our teams’ efforts aren’t stopping with these projects or the projects that we supported over the summer. Check out how we supported National Neighborhood Promise
