The Latest Updates

  • We are committed to providing service for all of our customers as we continue discussions with the union to reach an agreement that benefits our Forward Landfill employees and our customers.
     
  • Our Forward Landfill employees have expanded their picketing to other locations, and many Bay Area employees are honoring this picket line. 
     
  • We have mobilized additional Republic Services employees to assist with collections. Many customers are on a modified service schedule. 
     
  • Waste collection routes are being prioritized over recycling routes at this time.
     
  • At this time, all residents should leave their containers out for collection.

Why Service Has Been Affected

  • Republic Services is in contract negotiations with the union representing some of our employees at Forward Landfill. These employees have expanded their picketing to other locations, and many Bay Area employees are honoring this picket line. 
     
  • We respect the rights of our employees to engage in collective bargaining and are committed to meeting the service needs of our customers.
     
  • We apologize for the disruption this situation is causing, and thank you for your patience.
