In 2020, Republic Services contributed $3 million to the Foundation to help revitalize locally-owned small businesses as part of our nearly $35 million Committed to Serve initiative. This one-time initiative complemented the ongoing work of the Foundation. While these grants were awarded in 2020, the work and support continued well into 2021.
Three national nonprofit partners – Rebuilding Together, Habitat for Humanity International, and NeighborWorks America – all received $1 million Committed to Serve grants that were distributed to 29 local nonprofit partners to support more than 135 small businesses.

Between 2020 and 2021, the Foundation provided NNP grants to 30 select nonprofit affiliates, many of which have started or completed projects in 2021. These grants supported neighborhood revitalization projects across the country.

Both of these efforts were in addition to the ongoing support our teams provide directly to organizations in their communities.
