Team members in Las Vegas brought the heat to volunteer with
Martin Luther King Jr. Day parade participants
On Monday, January 17, 2022, the Las Vegas team took part in a parade to celebrate the life of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. We honor the legacy of Dr. King and his historic impact on the civil rights movement. Dr. King’s hope for a better tomorrow and brighter future is one that still stands strong today, and is a hope shared by all of us at Republic Services. Thank you to the following employees for being part of such an important day: Drivers Anissa E., Toney A., Jerry N.; Techs Edward M. and Angelo C.; Ops Managers Dale W. and Jahati B.; and Market Vice President Bryant T.

Driver Ignacio "Nacho" T's community involvement
Every week Jackson Law eagerly waits for his favorite day, collection day. Jackson loves to watch the truck pick up their carts and dump them. Ignacio Torres, better known as “Nacho” always makes it a point to stop and give Jackson a high five or a honk and a wave. Recently Nacho brought him his very own Republic Services truck. Jackson was thrilled about the truck and Nacho definitely secured his spot as Jackson’s favorite driver. Folks like Nacho Rep The Star every day and we are proud to have them on our team.
Career day touch-a-truck with driver Ferrer V.
Driver Ferrer Vincent shared with students that reading and math are essential to his job. He encouraged students to listen to their teachers and develop good reading and math skills. He also explained how the trash goes through the hopper and exits at the rear of the truck. The students shared their knowledge of recycling, decomposition, and the landfill process. He also discussed safety and instructed the students never to come near a Republic Services truck when it is running. It was an exciting day, with a few students selected to come on board and blow the air horn - a highlight of the day!
